Holiday in Western Norway?

In the western part of Norway, in the area of Nordfjord, is the well-known village Stryn. Here you will find Nature on its most sublime; waterfalls, rivers and valleys around a green lake reflecting mountains with snow on the top - in the beautiful summertime…

Glomnes Ferie Hytter is a nice, little place to spend your holiday in cottages of very good standard. Located in the village Oppstryn ( see map )

- in the most majestic norwegian nature - you will have the view to the Strynsvatn lake, see the snow on the mountains around the Jostedals glacier, and be situated in an open and friendly wood of pines. Here you can rest and relax in a nearly unaffected landscape - without the noise of traffic. Here it is the noise of nature that will dominate - from the waterfalls, the rivers, the birds. The lake is situated under hundred meters from our cottages, and you have a lot of old trails and walks to choose between in the valleys nearby. With car you can reach the well-known Loen, Olden, the Briksdal glacier, the city of Stryn with boutiques and restaurants, or you can take a day-trip to Geiranger, Grotli, Lom or some of the others touristplaces. At the glaciers of Strynefjell we have the exciting summerski centre for snow-, sun- and ski-enthusiasts, half an hour from Glomnes.

Here you can see one of our 2 cottages. There are 2 bedrooms and a small kind of attic with three mattresses. Totally they are suited for 5-8 persons. Downs and pillows are in all beds. The bathroom has shower and washing-machine. In the dining-room there are an "open" stove, TV, radio and a stereo for CD and cassettes we also have wireless internett included ( You have to ask for the wep key ). In the kitchen you will find refrigerator, freezer, cooker with fan, coffee-machine, dishwasher and of course the usual equipment you need. Go here for picture of the cabin

The cottages are "coloured" by Nature itself - with unpainted wainscots inside. The walls are isolated to be warm and cosy also in wintertime. The main source of energy is electricity.

All the cottages have a terrace to the south with roof and table & chairs.

The waterfall Glomnesfossen is situated about 200 meters behind the cottages. Both in the river and in the lake there are fishes to get. We have two boats for your disposition. An evening on the lake, in the quiet sunset hours, with mountains all around you - that's a real experience!
